Yemenite Shofar (Medium), Christian, Holy Land, Hebrew Heritage, (SH055)

Yemenite Shofar - Medium (27" - 30")

Quick Overview

Polished and Half-Polished

SH055 - Config

Yemenite Shofar (Medium)  27" to 30"

This is a beautiful Kudu horn Shofar 27”-30”inches . It is a natural hand crafted, high quality shofar made in Israel.  The length is determined by the measurement of the outside curve. Each shofar is checked for sound and quality.

So the people shouted, and the priests blew with the horns. And it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the horn, that the people shouted with a great shout, and the wall fell down flat…” (Joshua 6:20)

Material: Kudu Horn

Choices:  half-polished and fully-polished

The fully-polished shofars are sanded and polished until glowing and shiny, bringing out colors under the surface for an impressive effect.

The half-polished shofars are achieved by cleaning and forming the shofar but leaving one length of the shofar as closely resembling the horn in it’s natural state as possible and on the other side the shofar is sanded and polished until the colors under the surface are exposed and shiny.

Size:  27" to 30" long  *Measurement is around the outside curve of the Shofar

Every shofar will have its own "voice" and sound.  The texture of the finish and the diameter of the mouthpiece opening will vary the sound of the horn as well.

Please note: Due to the individual nature of each shofar, the color and texture will vary from the shofar pictured.

Imported from Israel

What is the Biblical significance of the Shofar?

The shofar is mentioned many times in the Old Testament.  The shofar played a considerable role in the Fall of Jericho (Joshua 6:15-16).
The shofar is also mentioned in the New Testament and played an integral part in Jesus’ life and ministry. Some of the passages where you can find reference to the shofar are Matthew 24:31, I Corinthians 15:52, and I Thessalonians 4:16:

Matthew 24:31 – “and He will send forth His angels with a great shofar and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.”

I Corinthians 15:52 – “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last shofar; for the shofar will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.”

I Thessalonians 4:16 – “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the shofar Of God.”
There are numerous other occurrences of the shofar in the Bible. It is clearly an object with a rich Biblical history.
